Religion forms a major part of the life for most of us. It plays a vital role in our being what we are, and hence a place of worship is always an attraction for the tourists. Likewise, the church of Santa Croce in Florence is a major attration for the tourists who spend hours for having a look at this pious place. It is really a wonderful and tranquil place. This church overwhelms the onlookers with a sense of gaiety and peace.
Even I had to wait till the midnight in order to have a glimpse of the church as it is flooded with crowds of tourists during the day.There are wonderful idols of Saint francis and his followers in deep blues and matt reds, terracotta and brown garments falling in lush folds around them.
It is a serene place,and if you happen to go to Florence, then you must visit this church which is still very much a working church.
