The splendid capital of Bavaria is preparing to shut down, the next June 14, well 850 candles! Its founding dates back to 1158 by Henry the Lion, Duke of Saxony; at Munichen consisted of a settlement of monks dedicated to prayer and work (not by chance that the emblem of the city depicts a monaco…). Henry did ignite sull’Isar the bridge along which passed the old road salt, controlled the Bishop of Freising, and built another that, passing on its territory, near Munichen, allowed to have a market proper. It was an official document signed by the Frederick Barbarossa on June 14, 1158 which was confirmed to the city of Monaco the right to market and mint coins.
It will be the motto “build bridges” to accompany throughout the summer, many events organized for this important occasion, as the reopening of Stadtmuseum and Cuvilliés Theater (one of the most beautiful baroque theatres in Germany who was recently renovated by the Free State of Bavaria), the Feast of the foundation in the city centre (associations with folk customs dell’Isargau Bavarian, while associations of zatterieri Bavaria implement a raft towed by horses), the Feast of the circle the historic center (other stations and representations invited viewers to take a trip theatrical, musical, sports and fun in time through the past, present and the future of the city) and the feast of bridges sull’Isar (a romantic festival along the river until late at night with music and a riot of lights on bridges and water, maintaining a theater between trees, dances along the embankments and air facilities in the park).
Here is the full programme of events that will accompany the festivities with dates and places, while here you can look for accommodation.
