Tomorrow, Tarta day: release turtles in Tuscany
Tomorrow Livorno and Talamone festival will be: is the ¨ Tarta day, day of the liberation of 13 turtles recovered, treated and rehabilitated. The turtles that will resume the path of the sea are part of over 650 specimens that in the last 2 years were recovered and treated by the network of Centres Tartanet, 13 headteachers in the national territory coordinated by the Centre student Italian tourist.
The UN estimates that the cementificazione and erosion of coasts of the Mediterranean basin are a threat to the nesting sites of this species. The Cts, with the project Tartanet started in 1990, has set up 13 centres hospital for the care of turtles, with the collaboration of biologists, veterinarians and volunteers.
