Tornado hits Costa Maya

Tornado hits Costa Maya

Costa Maya, a popular port of Mexico, has been hit by a tempest, which has caused severe damages. The harbor is so beautiful that it looks just like a paradise, but with the indemnity that has emerged because of the fury of nature, it has become a vast ruin. The damage is estimated to be extremely rigorous, and the condition of the port is lamentable. Costa Maya is one of the most visited harbors in the Caribbean islands, and therefore, the consequences of this tornado are going to be harsh for the tourism of the region.

It is predicted by the experts that the haven will not be in a condition of operations for at least half a year. The sales and marketing administrator of the region, Cesar Lizarraga, is anxious because of the loss suffered by the dock. He was reluctant to give any new information, but remarked that the tornado has smashed almost half infrastructure of the port. The expenditure on the reparation of the damage caused will be extremely high. The port will not be able to function for around eight months, according to Lizarraga. There will be conferences arranged with the experts to deal with the situation.

The artificial harbor, which was nothing six years ago, beamed with vitality and life because of the crowds of tourists who had fun and frolic in this wonderful place. Now, the natural agents have turned it back to almost nothing. I remember a line by Tennyson, describing the mercilessness of nature: “Nature is red in tooth and claw”.

I hope that the port is revitalized as soon as possible.

Dangerous Places to Drive

Summer is the season when people all across the world go out for long drives and to see what the world has to offer. Driving fast and driving at dangerous places is the favorite pastime for adventure lovers. The Center for Excellence in Rural Safety at the University of Minnesota released a study on the “most dangerous place(s) to travel over the holidays.”

The study highlights the rural roads only and not the big and smoothly made multi-lane superhighways that criss-cross the country. It has been reported that “57 percent of highway deaths occur” on rural roads, and “three-quarters of the public roadway mileage in the United States — more than 3 million miles of roads — is considered rural,” according to U of M.

Here is the list of the top most dangerous places to drive. These are the places where most of the accidents take place. So, just be careful and cautious if you happen to pass through these regions. Just have a view of these banal areas:

Maine (92%)
North Dakota (90%)
South Dakota (89%)
Iowa (88%)
Vermont (88%)
Montana (86%)
Wyoming (84%)
South Carolina (83%)
Mississippi (82%)
Arkansas (81%)

This is the percentage of casualties that happen on the rural roads in these areas. This survey is really shocking, yet it has a verisimilitude. Be cautious while driving through these places. Your safety is precious for your dear ones.
