Wild winds likely to delay Chicago flights
Thursday, June 7th, 2007Chicago is literally the “windy city” and storm has been expected which has led to the delay in flights all over Chicago. It has been anticipated that winds are likely to gust upward to 50 mph. According to the National Weather Service’s website, the strong storms are expected to pass through the area between 6 p.m. Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday. Hence The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Cook, Will, DeKalb, DuPage, Kane, Kankakee and McHenry counties. Flight delays are therefore expected on Thursday afternoon and evening because of unfeasible conditions at O’Hare and Midway airports according to the City Department of Aviation. Aviation spokesman Gregg Cunningham has advised the travelers to check the status of their flight by visiting flychicago.com or by contacting respective airlines. Via MSNBC
