China: Artists Promoting Tourism

Monday, August 20th, 2007

These days, China is witnessing a major shift in the profession of artists. They are increasingly changing their profession from art to tourism. It broadly means that now their work means an amalgam of art and food. They are actually emerging as restaurateurs.

Some of such restaurants or cafes are Qu Nar, Tian Xia Yan, and South Silk Road. All these restaurants in Beijing are the major highlights of the town these days.

china tourism

South Silk Road is in Soho New Town. It is a fabulous restaurant made for the leisure of high-class art- lovers. Beautiful waitresses in bright uniforms serve delicious food. The black furniture also adds beauty to the artistic environment.

Qu Nar is planned and owned by an artist called Mr. Ai, whose restaurant is a perfect place for his fellowmen to relax and dine. The owner is of view that the restaurant is not making much profit because of lack of promotion. But, in my opinion, it is one of the best restaurants, with an exclusive ambience.

I think that it is a nice way of promoting tourism, and encouraging art-lovers to have a different taste.

China-A Cultural Trip for Women

the great wall

This exciting tour for women has been offered in collaboration with Girlfriend Getaways, a supplement to Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel Magazine. The tour is going to enhance the cultural knowledge of the women as besides including the highlights of a regular Champion Holidays trip (Great Wall, Forbidden City, Ancient Grand Canal Cruise, etc.), this women-oriented itinerary offers a trip to see the pandas at the Beijing Zoo; a lesson in the Chinese art of paper cutting; a tour around a silk factory, where you can choose a fabric and have a traditional qipao dress custom-made; a home visit with a family in Beijing; and more. The experience will show the culture of the land on a personal basis.
“I want to thank you for one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. The service, hotels, and tour guides were all excellent from beginning to end.” This is the statement of Linda Henriques who went for the tour in 2006.
The tour will be for 14 days and in these 14 days, you will closely watch and testify the rich culture of china. The tour will make you encounter Chinese folk culture that has existed in china for a long time, the giant pandas in Beijing give a new experience, and the Peking Opera Show also provides mirth and delight. The Great Wall of China is also one of the highlights. The tourists will also visit a tea orchard and learn the Chinese tea culture.
It will really be an informative and a different trip all together. I am looking forward to it desperately.

Heath in Wanderland- the creator of the Top 10 Travel Tips for Kyoto has now brought the Top 10 Travel Tips for Beijing and thinks that Beijing is a wonderful and inexpensive place. She thinks that there are lots of things that one can do in this vibrant and vital place.
She has helped us with some of the most ultimate advices that are must to remember. These are:

Top 10 Travel Tips for Beijing
You must reserve a bed at Red Lantern House, a wonderful hostel in the neighborhood of Beijing. This is a place which can give us a good opportunity to experience the Chinese culture. Red Lantern also has an in-house kitchen that serves up delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals.

Top 10 Travel Tips for Beijing
You must take a breather from the city to watch the Chinese people practicing their operas, and dances. The parks are the most wonderful places to witness the rich culture. The famous Temple of Heaven Tiantan Park. This is the best place to watch the Chinese practice Tai chi. it is truly inspiring.
It is rather obvious that every one going to china must visit the Great Wall. This pilgrimage, which usually features on people’s “List of Things to do Before I Die,” is a wonder to behold. On a fairly clear day, you can see the wall snaking away for miles on end. The section at Mutianyu, which is less touristy than other sections but not too much of a laborious hike or long drive from Beijing. If you walk up to the top, it really gives a feeling of pleasure.

Top 10 Travel Tips for Beijing
Tiananmen Square is a must-see. If you want to see it thoroughly then you must go in the day as well as at evening. The lights remind you of festivities and the massacre. If you go before the Olympics, you can see the countdown and the crazy Olympic characters that are housed in the square.
The Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven must not be missed in any case. They are the major attractions.

These are some of the tips that I thought are mandatory to be shared with all of you. Be sure to read Heath in Wanderland’s entire Top 10 tips list in order to have a better idea.
