In order to present mountaineers with weather details and automatic weather warning, the Indian Mountaineering institution is setting up an Integrated Sensor Suite (ISS), a warning and recording system that contain a microprocessor forbidden light weight weather station, at the “Chhota Shigri” glacier in Himachal Pradesh. The organization will be installing with in this year for which a detection team is visit the part in June 07.
The system also takes in a solar panel to control it and an information logger that can record sensor data worth 6 months for recovery later on. Thus it can be left unattended for 6months. The verification data will help in generates vital real time data with stare to global warning and weather change at the glaciers. As per the ISRO report, due to global warming 20 glaciers in Himachal Pradesh will evaporate by 2020 and not many glaciers will be gone for the mountaineers to climb by the center of the century. IMF will quickly set up a join of more weather footage and warning systems in the Himalaya in order to assemble and analyze the related data to fight global warming and to preserve Himalayas.
Designed by Davis U.S.A, ISS collects external weather data from its sensors and send the data to a LCD comfort or Weather representative.
The compact weather station will contain the following features:
” Compact structure with light weight and UN cumbersome installation system.
” It has sensors for ambient warmth, humidity, rain gauge, solar radiation and UV.
” Solar power provide for long unattended apply.
” The solid uncontrolled station is gifted to give quick forecasting, onscreen graphics, quick outlook icons and climate warning and forecast on its built in LCD console.
