Tuesday, July 3rd, 2007

Kiosks are now being considered as an effective and new way of checking-in hotels. This self-service will ensure security of the hotels and the tourists both. This service will also be responsible for making checking-in easier and faster as it will reduce the check-in time to 45 seconds.
Guests will be able to identify themselves by swiping their credit cards or membership cards, or by entering their membership number or a reservation confirmation number and their last name. According to Touch Check, this system has already been installed in the major premium hotels nationally.

The guests may also change their profile as regards the change in their phone numbers, address, and can also modify their departure dates. They will be required to enter the number of adults and children with them for security measures. After this, they will get an electronic room keys via a remote key encoder. Check-in is possible for both pre-booked and unreserved rooms (if the hotel is fully booked the kiosk will display a no availability message).

This system would also ensure a faster check-out and the mini-bar items will be added to their bills along with tax receipt with the help of this system.
