All of us think that prairie is a region of cornfields, the grass lands of this green land don’t possess hills according to the misconception that most of us have. A semi-trailer collided with a V/line passenger train at a level crossing in Victoria’s north-west and police believe that up to six people are dead. The casualty happened at a level crossing on the Murray Valley Highway about 10 kilometers north of Kerang at 1.40pm local time (3.40pm NZT), Victoria Police said. There have been a number a people found dead by the police and there is complete chaos at the scene and the situation at the moment is problematic.
A police spokeswoman said that they had found the dead bodies of four people but they fear that the number may rise up to 6. A spokeswoman for the Rural Ambulance Service told that at least six ambulances from as far away as Mildura had headed for the scene of the crash. It has also been claimed that the V/line passenger train on the Melbourne to Swan Hill service was derailed in the accident.
It is acknowledged that efforts are being made to keep the situation under control as the Police, ambulance and the Country Fire Authority are trying their best to help the victims and eliminate the confusion and chaos.
