Misleading: dall’Antitrust six convictions for airlines

The 2008 has not started well for airlines that do not adhere to a transparent pricing policy and in line with that provided by Italian law and community.
Since January first, in fact, the Antitrust comminato has six convictions accompanied by penalties for 47,500 euros. According to Il Sole 24 hours, the fines are linked to advertising of air fares considered misleading. The proceedings have focused campaigns published in newspapers and magazines that promised travel at very low prices if not free, by failing to declare taxes and fees additional.
Among the companies affected are the low cost, as Aer Lingus, Easyjet and Jet2.com, but also the Czech Airlines and British Airways, which will have to pay 12 thousand euros in compensation. The defect to advertise low prices and then hide the surprises not only carriers flying over our country and indeed the last month the European Union has launched a measure that the rules of transparency, updating what is already contained in the third package .
It should be remembered, since the holiday period, which in Italy are prohibited rates net of expenses, taxes and other charges, or refer to a single case of return, to a limited number of tickets or certain periods of validity reservation and travel if not clearly indicated.
