The French capital on June 28 inaugurates a new system of urban displacement along the river. It called Vogeo and service will be offered by green and blue boats in service from the station Austerlitz up in the province, Maisons Alfort (Val de Marne). With five total stops, the stopovers in Paris will be the National Library and Bercy.

This project was founded in 2003 by the demand of transport more environmentally friendly and economic and investment reflects the joint bodies responsible for the traffic in Paris and its suburbs. The experiment will last two years to assess whether and how to extend the service. For now, holders of subscription RATP travel free while the single ticket costs 3 euros. The boats that offered the service are catamarans who stay up to 70 passengers.

If not exactly an alternative to bateaux mouche, since the route reduced by Vogeo, certainly represents an opportunity for tourists to get a budget tours on the Seine. Places that, for a tour of major monuments, there is a convenient service BatoBus: with 12 euro can travel an entire day without restrictions between the stations of the Eiffel Tower, Museum D’Orsay, St. Germain, Notre Dame, Jardin des Plantes, Champs Elisees, Louvre and Hotel de Ville.
