The biggest dune of Europe: the Duna of Pyla in France

The Duna of Pyla (or Duna de pylat), which runs along the Atlantic coast for about 3 kilometers inland that extends for 500 metres and measure 117 meters high, is the largest sand dune in Europe. All data from other parts of the world will not mean much, but here in Europe are a certain impression, even considering the context in which you insert the Duna; should not stay there, a foreign body.

And in fact is nothing but the Duna has always existed. It was formed during the seventeenth century when a large amount of sand (sand abnormal?) Accumulated, focusing, in this stretch of coast of Gironde, France. Now this anomaly was embedded within the circuit of the Grand National site, a project of preservation and tourism development of the major areas of natural interest of the country.

The dune not far from Bordeaux, so if capitate than those shares do not miss a walk over the Duna. Maybe you can also decide to stop in camping near the Duna of Pyla, the ebrezza trying to stay in a place that in about 40 years will be completely submerged by sand; because the dunes have the bad habit of moving, and this makes it to pace of 3.4 metres per year.
