Lisbon, the white city ..., Guide, Portugal, Lisbon

Probably one of the Lisbon European capitals less dependent on mass tourism, almost underestimated. Yet anyone who has had occasion to visit you tell an incredibly pleasant climate, an atmosphere suspended between tradition and modernity, fantastic food, and people calorosissima.

In truth few other cities can boast of being so authentic. In the modern area of Expo opposed the center, paved with Azulejos, with its singers of Fado, and the Barrio Alto, with its castle, which offers a breathtaking view of the city, its streets with countless steps and fabulous restaurants where taste fantastic fish dishes (not miss the Bacalao, in all its variants).

Even in other Barrios there are places of interest the Alfa ma is the city’s historic district, and is still the beating heart of life in Lisbon. Going then to the Tagus, Basia is the new shopping area, filled with shops of all kinds, which survive proud ignoring the large supermarket chains, who can not seem to be still arriving.

And yet, for those seeking entertainment night, the Barrio Alto offer an infinite of bars and pubs, where you can go after dinner. If you are in search of architectural wonders, you will find fantastic to observe modern works, like Vasco Da Gama Bridge, 17 km long, and a few minutes to find the Tower of Belem, according heritage of humanity ‘UNESCO, or dos Jeronimos Monastery .

Greek Islands: Nisyros Guide,Greece

Who knows the Greek islands, found to Nisyros the atmosphere that respiravano in Santorini 20 years ago. E ‘in fact a volcanic island and colors reminiscent of the beaches Santorini but still is little frequented by mass tourism. It ‘an island relaxed and relaxing, not reach 42 square kilometres and has 28 km of coastline.

The town’s main Mandraki, picturesque streets open onto squares obreggiate from trees where the locals gather in the evening for drinking, chatting and, why not watch television. The village has no beach and day is crowded by tourists who make the trip organised by the volcano nearby islands, mainly from Kos and Tilos.

To fully breathe the air of sonnacchiosa then, I suggest sleep in the nearby village of Pali, a few kilometers from Mandraki accessible by motor and the autostop. The port of Pali has a wide sandy beach, popular by the Greeks many of whom emigrated to the United States and return only in summer. Pali then hosts a marina for small boats and can accommodate vessels unloaded crates of fresh fish for restaurants and taverns in the area.

Summer mountain Valsesia offers history and relax Art, Guide, traditions,Piedmont

I am not a big passionate mountain in the summer, as Mark I can imagine to ski without… But there is a place that has won my heart for the atmosphere, the absence of mass tourism, traditions that are kept jealously: in Alagna Valsesia. The country is the last you’ll find on the state 299, overlooking the river Sesia, set by the Monte Rosa, collects the story of an ancient population of Germanic origin, Walser that Alagna moved between the twelfth and thirteenth century.

During the summer in Alagna can do a lot of walks, as the path glaciologico to discover the evolution of a glacier along a path that winds into 8 stages reported. You can also opt for the discovery of architecture and traditions of Walser following the route of ‘eco museum, an open-air route between houses, churches, mills and furnaces of the community.

Some small things that made my stay magic: seeing the many prayers Tibetan hung outside the houses of the country sway in the wind, buying fresh milk milked just a few steps from the main square of the country and lunch at guglielmina refuge where one day I would like perhaps even stop to sleep (yes, almost 3000 meters high not only eat well but you can sleep at the hotel that once was the highest in Europe).
